On September 24th, 2025, the Subcommittee on Human Rights met in the European Parliament in Brussels to discuss human rights and climate change, the role and the challenges of human rights and environmental activists.

The entire session was incredibly interesting, but what captured our attention was the opening speech by Joseph Oleshangay, a Maasai lawyer, human rights advocate, and winner of the 2023 Weimar Human Rights Award.
